Chronic Pain
Chronic pain that has lasted months needs a different, whole-person approach. We help reduce your pain and rebuild the activity and confidence it has taken.
Understanding chronic pain
Chronic pain is pain that persists for longer than about three months, beyond the normal time it takes tissue to heal. It is very common and can affect the back, neck, joints or the whole body, as with fibromyalgia. In chronic pain, the nervous system often becomes more sensitive, so pain can continue even when the original injury has settled. This does not mean the pain is imagined, it is very real, but it does mean the plan is different from treating a fresh injury.
Managing chronic pain well means looking beyond a single tissue to the whole person: movement, strength, sleep, stress, activity levels and confidence all play a part. The most effective approach is active and gradual, rebuilding what pain has taken rather than chasing a quick fix. A careful assessment helps us understand your pain, rule out anything that needs medical review, and build a realistic, sustainable plan you can follow.

Treating chronic pain at Rehoboth
Every plan starts with a thorough assessment and a written plan you can actually read. Same-week appointments across five Grand Cayman clinics.
Your first visit is an unhurried assessment of your pain, movement, strength and how it affects your daily life, along with screening for anything that needs medical review. We explain what is driving your pain in plain language, because understanding chronic pain is itself part of the treatment. Hands-on physiotherapy, dry needling and gentle movement help settle symptoms and get you moving with more comfort and confidence.
The core of the plan is a graded, personalised programme that gradually rebuilds activity, strength and fitness at a pace your system can handle, so you do more with less flare-up over time. We address sleep, pacing and stress through our wellness programs, set goals that matter to you, and coordinate with your doctor where medication or further input would help. Same-week appointments are available across our five Grand Cayman clinics.

Chronic Pain questions, answered
Yes. Physiotherapy is a key part of managing chronic pain, combining education, hands-on treatment and a graded movement programme that gradually rebuilds activity and strength, helping you do more with fewer flare-ups over time.
In chronic pain the nervous system often becomes more sensitive, so pain can continue even when tissues have healed and scans look normal. The pain is very real, and this understanding shapes an active, graded plan rather than a search for more scans.
Started at the right level and progressed gradually, movement usually helps chronic pain rather than harming it. We find a starting point your system can handle and build from there, so you gain function without repeated big flare-ups.
Chronic pain is managed over time rather than cured overnight. Many people see steady gains in function and comfort over weeks to months, and your physiotherapist sets meaningful goals and adjusts the plan as you progress.
Yes. We treat chronic pain at all five of our Grand Cayman clinics, including George Town, Savannah, Seven Mile Beach and West Bay, with same-week appointments and direct insurance billing.
