Kinesiology Taping
Kinesiology taping applies flexible, skin-friendly tape to support joints and muscles, calm swelling and help you keep moving while an injury settles.
What to expect
Kinesiology taping uses a thin, stretchy tape that moves with your skin rather than restricting it like rigid strapping. Applied along muscles and around joints, it gently lifts the skin to support the area, ease pressure on irritated tissue and encourage better movement. At Rehoboth our physiotherapists use it as part of a treatment plan, whether you are recovering from a sports injury or managing everyday aches in Grand Cayman.
Depending on how it is applied, the tape can support a joint without limiting range, help reduce swelling by encouraging fluid to drain, or cue muscles to work more efficiently. It is comfortable enough to wear for several days, through showers and activity, so the benefit continues between sessions. We show you what the tape is doing and, where useful, how to reapply it so you can stay active while you heal.

Your kinesiology taping journey
Assessment first, a clear written plan, then treatment and review. You always know the next step.
Assessment first
Your physiotherapist assesses the injured area and how it moves before deciding whether taping will help. Taping is chosen for a clear reason, such as support, swelling control or muscle cueing, and it usually sits within a broader treatment plan rather than being used on its own.
Tape application
The skin is cleaned and the tape is applied in the pattern that matches your goal, with the right tension for support or drainage. The whole process takes only a few minutes. Your clinician checks the tape feels comfortable and does not pull or irritate the skin.
Wear and review
You can usually wear the tape for a few days, through showers and activity. We explain how to look after it, when to remove it and, if helpful, how to reapply it at home. At your next visit we review how the area responded.
Kinesiology Taping questions, answered
Kinesiology tape usually stays on for three to five days, even through showers, sweat and exercise. It is designed to be worn continuously so the support continues between sessions. Your physiotherapist will tell you when to remove or replace it.
Taping can support joints, ease pain and help manage swelling when applied correctly for the right problem. It works best as one part of a wider physiotherapy plan rather than on its own. Your physiotherapist will explain what the tape is doing for your injury.
Yes. Quality kinesiology tape is water resistant and made to move with you, so you can shower, swim and train while wearing it. Pat it dry after it gets wet and avoid scrubbing the edges.
Yes. Kinesiology and sports taping is available across our five Grand Cayman clinics, including George Town and Seven Mile Beach, usually with same-week appointments. We also bill CINICO and major insurers directly.

Magnetotherapy
Magnetotherapy uses pulsed magnetic fields to calm inflammation and encourage healing in bone, joint and soft tissue injuries, without needles or downtime.
Ultrasound Therapy
Therapeutic ultrasound sends focused sound waves deep into the tissues to warm them, ease pain and encourage healing in tendon, muscle and joint problems that are slow to settle.
Laser Therapy
Low level laser therapy uses focused light to reach painful, injured tissue below the skin, helping to reduce pain and support healing without heat or needles.
TENS Therapy
TENS uses gentle electrical pulses delivered through pads on the skin to interrupt pain signals and give drug free relief from acute and long standing pain.
Electrical Muscle Stimulation
Electrical muscle stimulation uses controlled pulses to make weak or inhibited muscles contract, helping to reactivate and rebuild them after injury or surgery.
Percussion Therapy
Percussion therapy uses rapid, targeted pulses to reach deep into tight muscle, easing tension and helping you recover faster from training, work or injury.
