Manual Therapy and Exercise

Manual therapy combines skilled hands-on techniques with guided exercise to ease back, neck and joint pain and restore natural, comfortable movement.

What to expect

Manual therapy is hands-on physiotherapy that uses skilled joint mobilisation, soft tissue release and gentle stretching to reduce pain and free up stiff, restricted movement. At Rehoboth our physiotherapists assess how your spine, joints and muscles move together, then treat the structures that are actually driving your symptoms. It is a practical, drug-free approach to back, neck and joint pain that fits everyday life in Grand Cayman.

Hands-on treatment often settles pain quickly, but lasting relief comes from movement. That is why every session pairs manual therapy with a personalised exercise programme you can continue at home. As your joints move more freely we rebuild the strength and control that keep pain from returning. Your physiotherapist adjusts the balance of hands-on work and exercise at each visit, so the plan matches how you feel and how your body responds.

How it works

Your manual therapy and exercise journey

Assessment first, a clear written plan, then treatment and review. You always know the next step.

Step 1

Assessment first

Your first visit begins with a full physiotherapy assessment. We take your history, watch how you move and test the joints and muscles involved, so we can pinpoint the cause of your pain rather than chase symptoms. You leave with a clear diagnosis and a written treatment plan.

Step 2

Hands-on treatment

Your physiotherapist uses joint mobilisation, soft tissue release and stretching to reduce pain and improve how the area moves. Treatment is tailored to your comfort and stage of healing, and we explain what we are doing and why at every step.

Step 3

Exercise and progression

We add a personalised exercise programme to rebuild strength, mobility and control that you can carry on at home. As you improve we progress the exercises and review the plan, aiming for lasting relief and fewer flare-ups rather than a short-term fix that soon fades.

Good to know

Manual Therapy and Exercise questions, answered

Manual therapy should not be painful, though some techniques can feel firm and you may notice mild soreness afterwards. Your physiotherapist works within your comfort and adjusts the pressure to suit you. Any soreness usually settles within a day.

Most people notice a change within the first few sessions, and many back and neck problems improve over a short course. Your written plan sets out the likely number of visits, and we review progress regularly and adjust as you recover.
