Posture Rehabilitation

Posture rehabilitation eases the neck, shoulder and back strain of desk work by correcting the habits and muscle imbalances behind it.

What to expect

Posture rehabilitation is physiotherapy that eases the neck, shoulder and back strain that builds up from long hours at a desk. Instead of simply telling you to sit up straight, our physiotherapists find the muscles that have grown tight or weak and the daily habits that keep pulling you out of line. We then build a personalised programme to relieve the pain and hold your body in a healthier, more comfortable position.

Many desk workers in George Town and across Grand Cayman arrive with a rounded upper back, a forward head position and aching shoulders by late afternoon. Treatment combines hands on release for tight tissue, targeted strengthening for the deep postural muscles, and mobility work for stiff joints. We also review your workstation and daily routine, so the changes you make at the clinic keep working while you sit, stand and move through the day.

How it works

Your posture rehabilitation journey

Assessment first, a clear written plan, then treatment and review. You always know the next step.

Step 1

Postural assessment

Your first visit is a full postural assessment. We look at how you sit, stand and move, check the flexibility and strength of the key muscle groups, and pinpoint the sources of your neck or back strain. You leave with a clear explanation and a written plan.

Step 2

Hands on treatment

Treatment combines hands on therapy to release tight tissue, mobility work for stiff joints and exercises that strengthen the muscles supporting your spine. Your physiotherapist tailors each session to your symptoms and shows you how to hold a more comfortable, sustainable posture through the day.

Step 3

Workstation and review

We review your workstation, screen height and daily habits, then give you simple exercises and reminders to use at your desk. Progress is checked at each visit so your posture keeps improving and the strain is less likely to return once your programme ends.

Good to know

Posture Rehabilitation questions, answered

Yes, posture rehabilitation can noticeably improve desk related posture and ease the strain it causes. It works by strengthening weak muscles, releasing tight ones and changing the habits behind the problem. Lasting results come from the exercises and workstation changes you keep up between visits.

Many people feel less strain within a few sessions, while lasting postural change usually takes a few weeks of consistent exercise. Your written plan sets out an expected timeline, and we review your progress along the way.
